you are here: home> activity menu   The activities have been designed with a number of principles in mind:   -   aspects of the nature of science are the main organising theme with a subsidiary focus on metacognition; -   small group work is used extensively because being able to take on roles within groups is believed to be one of the characteristics of gifted learners; -   a minimum of guidance is provided about how to carry out the task so that the work is challenging.   The activities, aimed at Year 10, attempt to provide contexts that would link with and support school learning, but without simply repeating and pre-empting work that the delegates will meet in school science.       prev | next
